陛下之UB-21號艇（德語：SM UB 21[註 1]）是德意志帝國海軍於第一次世界大戰期間建造的其中一艘UB-II型近岸潛艇（英語：Coastal submarine）或稱U艇。它由漢堡的布洛姆與福斯船廠承建，於1915年9月26日下水，至1916年2月18日交付使用（英語：Ship commissioning）。其艇載武器包括兩具500毫米的艇艏魚雷發射管以及一門50毫米口徑甲板炮（英語：Deck gun）。UB-21號曾先後被部署至多支潛艇區艦隊，並參與了大西洋潛艇戰。在總共26次巡邏期間，該艇累計擊沉了33艘協約國或中立國商船，容積總噸為36764噸。戰後，該艇於1918年11月24日移交英國正式投降，至1920年作為標靶在索倫特海峽被淺水重炮艦恐怖號（英語：HMS Terror (I03)）擊沉。

設計

第一次世界大戰爆發後，隨着U艇戰（英語：U-boat campaign）形勢的發展，UB-I型潛艇排水量過小、適航性不佳、推進系統可靠性低等問題愈發凸顯。其水面航速甚至追不上商船，以5節（9.3公里每小時）航速潛航1小時後，蓄電池電能便會耗盡。它們甚至無力應對多佛爾海峽8至10節（15至19公里每小時）的海流。為此，潛艇監察局於1915年4月研發了UB-I型潛艇的放大版——UB-II型，並由德國國家海軍辦公室委託兩家造船廠建造。[8]其中UB-21號是由漢堡布洛姆與福斯船廠承建的第四艘，於1915年9月26日下水。[2]

與前型UB-I型相比，UB-21號的水面及水下排水量分別增至270噸和292噸，全長36.13米，艇體採用單殼體加鞍形水櫃（英語：Saddle tank (submarine)）構造。由於突破了鐵路限界（英語：Loading gauge），舷寬也得以增至4.36米。該艇採用雙槳驅動，具有更大的蓄電池容量和更高功率的發動機。其主機為兩台科爾庭（英語：Körting Hannover）六缸四衝程280匹公制馬力（210千瓦特）柴油機用於水面運行，以及兩台相同功率的西門子-舒克特（英語：Siemens-Schuckert）電動發電機用於水下航行；水面最高航速9.15節（16.95公里每小時），水下5.81節（10.76公里每小時）；能夠在水面以5節航速續航6,450海里（11,950公里），或以4節（7.4公里每小時）連續在水下航行45海里（83公里）而無需充電。[3]蓄電池被放置在中央潛櫃的前方，以配平更重的發動機安裝。[9]其最大潛水深度為50米，潛沒需時為30－45秒。[8]

UB-21號的主武器為兩具500毫米艇艏魚雷發射管，採用層疊式佈局，以實現可以創造最佳表面效率的舷弧設計；魚雷攜帶量增至4枚，魚雷威力亦顯著提高。輔助武器是一門50毫米甲板炮（英語：5 cm SK L/40 gun）。司令塔增加了一具潛望鏡，並配備了1根兩段式可伸縮通信桅杆，前水平舵外形也做了調整。[8]其標準船員編制為2名軍官加21名水兵。[3]

服役歷史

1916年2月20日，UB-21號在首次擔任U艇艇長、時年31歲的海軍中尉恩斯特·哈斯哈根的指揮下正式入役（英語：Ship commissioning），隨即展開海試。[4][2]完成海試後，該艇曾先後被編入駐北海的第一、第二區艦隊以及駐波羅的海的第五區艦隊，並參與了大西洋潛艇戰。在其26次巡邏中，共擊沉33艘協約國或中立國商船，容積總噸為36764噸。[10]UB-21號於1918年10月7日退出前線，加入訓練區艦隊供潛艇學校使用。[2]

UB-21號在戰爭中倖存了下來，沒有被擊沉。戰後，根據對德停戰協議的要求，該艇於1918年11月24日移交英國，並在哈維奇正式向協約國投降。1920年9月30日，UB-21號作為標靶在索倫特海峽被英國海軍淺水重炮艦恐怖號（英語：HMS Terror (I03)）擊沉。其殘骸於1970年被打撈上岸並出售，至1998年已大部分被清理，僅餘一些殘存下來。[11]
