2-萘甲醛是一種有機化合物,化學式為C11H8O。它最初於1873年由J. P. Battershall通過2-萘甲酸鈣和甲酸鈣的熱分解得到:[2]

它也可以通過2-萘甲醇[3]2-萘乙烯[4]的氧化反應來製備。

它和丙二酸二甲酯乙酸-哌啶混合物的催化下反應,可以得到萘-2-亞甲基丙二酸二甲酯。[5]
