恩西比底文字[2]（英語：Nsibidi，也作nsibiri[3]、nchibiddi 或 nchibiddy[4]）是奈及利亞出現的古符號或類文字系統。他們被歸為象形符號，儘管也有人認為其中一些是語素文字或音節文字符號。[5]
該符號系統的使用最早見於1904年。[5] 在奈及利亞東南部卡拉巴爾地區發掘出的、約5-15世紀時期的陶器、頭枕和擬人雕像中，發現了與恩西比底文字「相似的圖標」。[6][7]
恩西比底文字符號有幾百種。[8] 許多符號與愛情有關，而那些與戰爭和神聖有關的符號則是保密的。[8] 恩西比底文字被用於牆面設計、花瓶、金屬（如青銅）、樹葉、劍和紋身上。[3][9] 它主要被Ekpe leopard結社（也叫 Ngbe 或 Egbo）使用，這是一個秘密結社，分布在奈及利亞東部克羅斯河州的Ekoi族、Efik族、伊博族、Bahumono族和其他鄰近民族中。
奈及利亞淪為殖民地前，恩西比底文字分成了神聖的版本和公共的、裝飾性更強的版本，婦女只能使用第2種版本。[9] 殖民統治的某些方面，如西方教育和基督教教義，大大減少了認識恩西比底文字的人數，使秘密結社成員成為了最後一批有能力讀寫這種文字的人。[10] 恩西比底文字通過大西洋奴隸貿易被運到古巴和海地，並在那裡發展成了anaforuan和veve符號。[11][12]

文字實例
