C型肝炎病毒（Hepatitis C virus，簡稱HCV）[2]是黃病毒科的一種小型（大小為55至65奈米）、包膜、正單鏈RNA病毒。C型肝炎病毒是C型肝炎和一些癌症如肝癌（肝細胞癌，簡稱HCC）和淋巴瘤的病因[3][4]。C型肝炎病毒可以通過血液傳播[5]。
C型肝炎病毒由哈維·奧爾特、麥可·霍頓和查爾斯·M·賴斯所發現。三人均在2020年獲得當年的諾貝爾生理學或醫學獎[6]。
