丙型肝炎病毒（Hepatitis C virus，簡稱HCV）[2]是黃病毒科的一种小型（大小为55至65纳米）、包膜、正单链RNA病毒。丙型肝炎病毒是丙型肝炎和一些癌症如肝癌（肝细胞癌，简称HCC）和淋巴瘤的病因[3][4]。丙型肝炎病毒可以通過血液传播[5]。
丙型肝炎病毒由哈维·奥尔特、迈克尔·霍顿和查尔斯·M·赖斯所發現。三人均在2020年獲得當年的诺贝尔生理学或医学奖[6]。
