沃尔多 (俄勒冈州)

沃尔多（英语：Waldo），位于美国俄勒冈州约瑟芬县，是一座鬼镇。此镇距加利福尼亚州边境约三英里。[1]1852年，这里成为开挖金矿者的定居点，被命名为水手矿山（Sailor's Diggings）。[1][2][3] 该地后来更名为“沃尔多”，以纪念1853年加州州长辉格党候选人威廉·沃尔多（英语：William Waldo）。[1][3]这是因为威廉·沃尔多认为该镇位于加利福尼亚州，因此在那里开展竞选活动并说服民众应该投票给他。[2][4] 该镇是约瑟芬县的第一个县城。[1][5]沃尔多邮局成立于1856年；于1928年停止服务。[6]
