2011年凡城地震，震央位于土耳其东部凡城省境内，靠近与伊朗边境地区，地震震级为里氏7.2，震源深度距离地表7.2公里，发生于当地时间2011年10月23日13点41分21秒（UTC时间10时41分21秒）[11]。该次地震造成至少573人死亡、2608多人受伤，2262栋房屋倒塌。[10]

地质

这起里氏规模7.2（Mw）的主震是发生于2011年10月23日当地时间13:41（10:41 UTC），震源大约在凡城北北东方16公里处，深度20公里。

由于地震强度大且震源较浅，该地震于大范围地区造成强烈地动，凡城测得的地震列度属麦加利地震震度9度(MM IX)；于震央附近相当大范围地区则属6至8度(MM VI–VIII)，而这些地区人口较少[12]；测得为3至5度(MM III-V)的地区更广，已延伸至亚美尼亚、阿塞拜疆、乔治亚、伊朗、伊拉克、以色列及叙利亚境内[7][13][14]。

灾情

凡城地震的主震及余震影响土耳其东部地区，造成数百栋房屋倒塌，有多人被废墟掩埋，凡城北部的埃尔吉斯为受灾最严重的地区之一，仅于该城就至少造成55栋房屋倒塌、45人死亡及156受伤[15][16]。大部分倒塌的房屋邻近主要道路且多有人居住，造成伤亡相对严重，于震央附近村庄的砖造房屋也近乎全部倒塌[17]。

于凡城省首府凡城，至少造成100人死亡及970栋房屋[18]。监狱的围墙因地震倒塌后，约有200名囚犯趁乱逃走，随后有50多人返回监狱[17]。有媒体报导凡城机场因地震受损而停止运作，不过也有消息指出该机场仍正常运作[19][20]。

国际反应

欧盟与北约（NATO）表示了慰问，北约将会提供帮助[21]，土耳其族塞浦路斯社区也表示了慰问[22]。亚美尼亚总统萨尔基相对土耳其总统居尔表示了慰问，并愿意提供即时的帮助[23]。美国总统奥巴马在一份声明中说：“我们会并肩与土耳其的盟友渡过这个困难的时刻，并准备协助土耳其当局”[24]。

规模5.7的地震发生于土耳其当地时间11月9日21时23分（UTC:19:23），造成7人死亡[37]，震央位于凡城南方16公里[38]。该地震尚未确定是否为10月23日地震的余震[39]。而坎迪利地震中心认为该地震与10月23日的地震并无关连[40]。

此次地震造成25栋房屋倒塌，由于多数房屋的居民已先撤离，地震当时仅有三栋房屋有人居住，否则伤亡将更加惨重。[41]
