伯克自然历史和文化博物馆（英语：Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture）是一座位于美国华盛顿州西雅图的自然历史博物馆。1899年建立时叫做华盛顿州立博物馆（Washington State Museum），历史更可以追溯到1879年华盛顿地区大学（华盛顿大学的前身）学生成立的一个博物学俱乐部，是华盛顿州最早成立的博物馆，收藏有上千万的人类学、生物学和地理学藏品。

历史

1899年建立时叫做华盛顿州博物馆（Washington State Museum），历史更可以追溯到1879年华盛顿地区大学（华盛顿大学的前身）学生成立的一个博物学俱乐部[3]。1886年俱乐部在华盛顿地区大学内建造了一栋建筑专门用来放置其藏品[4]。

华盛顿大学1895年搬到现址，俱乐部藏品也被搬入丹尼堂（Denny Hall）。1899年华盛顿州议会正式指定丹尼堂为华盛顿州立博物馆[5]。

1922年用作博物馆大楼的“Forestry Building”

1909年阿拉斯加-育空-太平洋博览会在西雅图举办，博物馆藏品参展。展后藏品搬入“California Building”，但因建筑设施问题，博物馆不久又搬入“Forestry Building”中。因这栋大楼中又发现有树皮甲虫，1923年至1927年间藏品被分散到校内各个单位中保存[3]。1927年博物馆搬入专门为博览会建造的大楼中[6]。但1957年这栋大楼拆除后，博物馆又无处可去[3]。

西雅图律师、商人托马斯·伯克（Thomas Burke）在1925年去世，遗孀卡洛琳（Caroline McGilvra Burke）打算为丈夫建造一座纪念性建筑。她本人也是一位美国原住民艺术品收藏家，因此提出为博物馆出资建设大楼，并以其夫之名命名。新大楼在1964年5月3日启用。[3]

2018年施工中的新馆

1996年博物馆有打算搬离华盛顿大学，在市中心选一地建造新的博物馆大楼。新建筑在2018年完工，旧建筑在同年年末关闭，并在2019年4月拆除[7][8]。新馆在2019年10月12日对外开放，花费约1.06亿美元。[7]
