羅納德·傑克·賴特（英語：Ronald Jack Wright，1953年4月8日—2021年2月7日）是一位來自德薩斯州的美國政治人物。他作為共和黨人，擔任德克薩斯州第六國會選區（英語：Texas's 6th congressional district）的美國眾議院議員。該選區包括阿靈頓整體和沃思堡東南部，南部還有一片遠郊地區。

早年生活和教育

羅納德·傑克·賴特[3]1953年4月8日出生於德薩斯州切羅基縣，是佩吉·達琳和喬治·威利斯·賴特的兒子。他於1971年從阿茲勒高中（英語：Azle Independent School District）畢業[4]，然後在德州大學阿靈頓分校就讀兩年，學習歷史、心理學和政治學[4][5]。

職業

進入政壇之前，賴特曾在陶瓷冷卻塔公司（Ceramic Cooling Tower, Inc）工作。他在20世紀90年代為《沃思堡星報》（Fort Worth Star-Telegram）撰寫了幾篇評論文章，建議公開處決和展示屍體以遏制犯罪。[6]

選舉

2018年（英語：2018 United States House of Representatives elections in Texas#District 6），賴特競選德薩斯州第六國會選區（英語：Texas's 6th congressional district）的美國眾議院議員，接替巴頓，後者與女性分享的露骨照片在網上被曝光後引起全國關注，並宣佈不再尋求連任[14][15][16][17]。萊特在初選中獲得第一名，但沒有達到避免決選所需的50%多數票。他在決選中與傑克·埃爾澤伊對決[18]，並以52%的得票率獲勝[19]。在大選中，賴特擊敗了民主黨人亞娜·桑切斯（英語：Jana Sanchez）[20][21]。

任期

2019年6月，墮胎權利倡導組織Reproaction發佈了一段視頻，視頻顯示，賴特說女性「絕對」應該因為實施自我管理的墮胎而受到懲罰，因為「她們犯下了謀殺罪」。[23]

2020年12月，賴特是126名簽署了一份法院之友摘要的共和黨眾議員之一，以支持德克薩斯州訴賓夕法尼亞州[24]，這是一項向美國最高法院提起的訴訟，對2020年總統選舉結果——喬·拜登擊敗了現任總統當勞·特朗普提出質疑[25]。最高法院拒絕審理此案，理由是德克薩斯州缺乏根據憲法第三條對另一州舉行的選舉結果提出質疑的資格[26][27]。

健康與去世

2019年7月，賴特宣佈他被診斷為肺癌[31]。第二年，他因放射治療帶來一系列併發症，導致住院[32]。

2021年1月21日，在德薩斯州的COVID-19大流行（英語：COVID-19 pandemic in Texas）期間，賴特宣佈他COVID-19檢測呈陽性[33]。他和妻子在達拉斯住院兩周後，賴特於2月7日去世。賴特是第一位感染該疾病後死亡的美國國會現任議員[34][35][36]。路易斯安那州的共和黨同僚盧克·萊特洛於2020年11月當選，也將在第117屆國會任職，他在宣誓就職前5天因該疾病的併發症去世[37]。
