笨嘴笨舌獎(英語:Foot in Mouth Award),又譯語無倫次獎不知所云獎,是一項由英國白話英語運動(Plain English Campaign)創立的獎項。這獎項專門頒發給「言語令人困惑的公眾人士」[1],用以督促公眾人物向大眾提供資訊時,應使用簡潔、易懂的語言和文字。

首屆的笨嘴笨舌獎於1993年頒發,得獎者為英國板球隊教練Ted Dexter,翌年舉行第二屆的評選。其後又停辦兩年,直至1997年起每年頒發。此外,英國簡明英語組織還因前美國副總統丹·奎爾在1991年時所講的話而額外向其頒發獎項。

時至目前為止,笨嘴笨舌獎共頒發過19次,當中只有威爾斯政治家洛蒂·摩根及英國前首相約翰遜兩度問鼎該獎項。另一方面,政治家是這獎項的得獎常客,共九度贏得此「榮譽」;其次為體育界人物,四度把獎項收入囊中。

2002 李察·吉爾 Richard Gere 美國電影演員李察·基爾道:「我知道我是誰。沒有人會知道我是誰。如果我是長頸鹿而有人認為我是蛇,我想,不,我其實是長頸鹿。」(I know who I am. No one else knows who I am. If I was a giraffe and somebody said I was a snake, I'd think 'No, actually I am a giraffe.) [6]
2003 拉姆斯菲爾德 Donald Rumsfeld 美國國防部長拉姆斯菲爾德因其「不知之不知論」贏得此獎:「據我們所知,有『已知的已知』,有些事,我們知道我們知道;我們也知道,有『已知的未知』,也就是說,有些事,我們現在知道我們不知道。但是,同樣存在『不知的不知』——有些事,我們不知道我們不知道。」(Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. 2004 鮑里斯·約翰遜 Boris Johnson 英國保守黨成員,同時也是後來的英國首相鮑里斯·約翰遜在BBC的遊戲節目中說:「我不能給你更少的反對意見了。」(I could not fail to disagree with you less.) [8]
2005 洛蒂·摩根 Rhodri Morgan 洛蒂·摩根在一個關於警務的辯論中使他第二度贏得此獎:「唯一要做的不是人人有份,而是不變。我認為這是公平的,除非不變,否則這只是玩玩然而。」(The only thing which isn't up for grabs is no change and I think it's fair to say, it's all to play for, except for no change.) [3]

2008 喬治·布希 George W. Bush 美國總統喬治·布殊除了奪得本年度的獎項外,更因他屢次失言而贏得終生成就獎,例子有:「我知我相信。我會繼續表達我所相信的而且我相信–我所信的是對的。」(I know what I believe. I will continue to articulate what I believe and what I believe – I believe what I believe is right)以及「我希望你能離開這兒,走出去說『他說了什麼?』」("I hope you leave here and walk out and say, "what did he say?") [11][2]
2009 文德森 Peter Mandelson 英國工黨成員文德森在回應會議開支醜聞時表示:「也許我們不需要更多的人找更多的角落,但這些人應找更多的角落就可更徹底的避免小事情被標誌成首相認為的大事情。」(Perhaps we need not more people looking round more corners but the same people looking round more corners more thoroughly to avoid the small things detracting from the big things the Prime Minister is getting right.) 2010 列納 Jamie Redknapp 足球評論員列納被指濫用「名副其實」(literally)這字:「現在這些球–名副其實地炸了你的腿。」("These balls now – they literally explode off your feet.") [13]
