砂拉越日 (馬來語：Hari Sarawak；英語：Sarawak Day) 定於每年的7月22日，受到砂拉越政府及砂拉越人民的廣泛重視。[1][2][3][4][5][6]
背景
1841年，文萊帝國授予砂拉越王國獨立的地位，自1888年，其被英國保護。[7] 然而，在那個時候，砂拉越並未獲得「完全獨立」[8] 第二次世界大戰結束後，其領土被英國軍事管制區接管，且在1946年成為了英殖民地。[9]領土轉移給殖民政府引起了砂拉越人民的不滿，人民期望能夠獲得獨立，開展了反割讓運動。1949年，英國第二任駐砂總督被馬來年輕老師羅斯里多比暗殺[10][11]。總督繼任者為安東尼·阿貝爾，是科博德委員會的成員之一。
砂拉越是於1963年7月22日獲得「自治權」的[2]，且以砂拉越將會在同年9月16日共組馬來西亞為前提[12]。砂拉越自治前的最後一名英籍總督是亞歷山大·瓦德歐[13]，而首名砂拉越人首席部長由英殖民政府任命，為史蒂芬·加隆·寧甘[14]。
