水府一(猎户座ν)是位于猎户座东北部的一对联星[11],不要将其与变星猎户座NU混淆[12]。水府一的视星等为4.42[2],这足够明亮,因此可以用肉眼直接看到。依据0.00632弧秒的年周视差[1],这个系统的距离大约是520光年。
这是肘有一组谱线的光谱联星系统[9],这意味著只能分析其中一个成员的吸收谱线特征。根据这个分量的绕行,周期为131.2天,离心率为0.64[6]。根据这个来源,主星要么是恒星分类为B3V的B型主序星[3], 或是已经演化成为B3IV的B型次巨星[4]。 它的角直径为0.251mas[13],以这个系统的距离估计,它的实际半径约为4.3R☉(太阳半径)[7],质量是6.7M☉(太阳质量)[4],光度是1,965L☉(太阳光度)[3],大气层表面的有效温度为17,880K[8]。
