爱丁堡惯用手量表

爱丁堡惯用手量表Edinburgh Handedness Inventory,缩写:EHI)是用来评估一个人日常生活中惯用其中一手的倾向(又称为偏手性)的量表,由Richard Carolus Oldfield于1971年发表。该量表由十项日常任务(如写字、刷牙等)组成,透过他人观察或是受试者自行填写每项任务使用左手或右手的频率,来评估受试者的惯用手倾向。由于受试者容易高估惯用手的使用频率,因此自行填写通常较不准确。[1]

应用

许多学术研究[2][3]与大众文学[4]中使用了爱丁堡惯用手量表,根据Google学术搜寻,该量表被引用了超过三万次。在有关偏手性的文献中,使用EHI的比例远高于其他版本的量表。[5]

然而许多学者对EHI不甚满意[6][7]。统计分析显示,量表测试结果中“使用扫帚”和“打开箱子”这两项实际上需要双手并用的项目与其他八项的相关性非常低,而且“绘画”和“写字”的结果高度重叠[8][9]。于是许多学者提出各自的改良版本,例如将使用扫帚、打开箱子和绘画三项删除,并增加了“使用鼠标”的EHI-8。[10]
