Bismuth

Bismuth is a poor metal. Its symbol is Bi and its atomic number is 83. It is reddish-silvery in color.

Bismuth's chemical properties are similar to those of arsenic and antimony, which are both metalloids.

Bismuth is the most anti-magnetic metal element. Except for mercury it is the least heat-conductive metal.

Uses

Bismuth is used in the manufacture of Pepto-Bismol™, an anti-diarrheal over-the-counter drug.

It also forms a useful alloy with tin.
