EUKOR是2002年成立的滾裝船公司，主要業務為汽車和重載貨物運輸，總部位於韓國首爾。

「EUKOR」的品牌名稱來自一個由“Europe & Korea”兩字組合而成的混成詞。

簡介

EUKOR是一家由威廉森航運公司（英语：Wilh. Wilhelmsen）擁有的韓國公司。

公司旗下擁有80艘滾裝船，每年運輸約400萬輛汽車，主要從韓國運往美國和歐洲。

主要業務包括海上運輸和貨物配載，如汽車、卡車、拖車、平板拖車、重型建築機械以及其他類型的滾裝貨物。

自1999年亞洲命運號（Asian Destiny）投入服務後，船隊開始擁有每航次能承載6,000多輛汽車的船隻。[1]

公司旗下超過一半的船隻名稱都以“Morning”一詞作為開頭，這概念源自韓國被國際稱為“晨靜之地”[2] 。

歷史

在2002年更名為EUKOR之前[3] ，這家公司前身是現代商船旗下的滾裝船部門，該部門成立於1980年代，當時購買了第一艘滾裝船並命名為現代1號（Hyundai No.1）。此後開通歐洲、澳大利亞和印度的3條航線，與日本三大海運公司日本郵船、商船三井和川崎汽船在汽車運輸和散貨方面展開競爭。

被威廉森航運公司和華輪航運公司（英语：Wallenius Lines）收購後，兩家斯堪地那維亞公司各持有40%的股權，而兩家南韓汽車製造商現代汽車和起亞汽車則持有剩餘的20%股權[4] 。

此次收購的主要目的是讓兩家瑞典公司能夠全面進入韓國出口市場。通過這筆交易，威廉森航運公司和華輪航運公司獲得了一支由近60艘滾裝船組成的船隊[5] ，每年能運載超過200萬輛汽車。此次收購需要獲得歐洲聯盟委員會的反壟斷批准，為獲得該批准，雙方同意終止與日本郵船公司的WALLNYK合作[6]，並同意在未經委員會事先同意的情況下，不與有關航線上的任何競爭承運人簽訂任何類似協議。

意外事故

現代105號

2004年5月24日，從韓國駛往德國的現代105號滾裝船於新加坡聖淘沙島附近一帶與一艘日本籍的超大型油輪相撞。結果現代105號沉沒，共損失3,000多輛全新的汽車和1,200輛日本二手車。所有船員獲救，但船至今仍未打撈。[64]

亞洲榮耀號

2010年1月6日，亞洲榮耀號搭載約2400輛汽車，其中大多數是新的現代和起亞車型，從韓國航行至吉達，於被亞丁灣被索馬里海盜劫持[65]。該船船上有25名船員，其中包括8名保加利亞人和5名印度人，此船最終於2010年6月在支付贖金後獲釋，該贖金金額至今仍未公開，但情報報告顯示接近海盜索要的1500萬美元。

亞洲帝國號

2014年4月19日，亞洲帝國號於日本海域附近發生火災，該船原本從蔚山前往巴拿馬的巴爾博亞。船員的所有24名成員都必須撤離[66]。幾小時後又發生了第二次火災；相關部門已對事故進行調查，但仍不清楚事故原因。最後租用兩艘打撈拖船將船隻拖到中國進行維修。
