'Pride of Burma' Arguably the most beautiful of flowering tropical trees, called "Queen of Flowering Trees" in some countries. The extravagant bright crimson red flowers are seen hanging from the long inflorescence. People who grow it, say "Hard to find, expensive and sensitive to the cold. Does not like wind. Doesn't like it's root disturbed. Do not let it dry out. Otherwise it is easy to grow!" It is the only member of the genus Amherstia The genus is named after Lady Sarah Amherst, who collected plants in Asia in the early 19th century.
