The first stone for the Sagrada Familia was laid in 1882 and it is due to be finished around 2030. Antoni Gaudi devoted the last Forty years of his life to building the Sagrada. My first visit was in 2003 when the outside still had some scaffolding but I was very surprised to find that there is even more scaffolding now and the towers, which have been finished for ages, are completely covered in netting. However, my disappointment at the state of the outside was made up for by the amazing inside, which now appears to be nearly finished. |
