古柏方格

古柏方格區,位於水星有大量坑穴的地區,包括年輕、直徑55公里的古柏坑(11°S.,31.5°),在紀錄上是這顆行星反照率最高的地區[1],和水星經度的主要參考點,小的婚咯坑(Hun Kal,0.6°S.,20.0°)(戴維斯和貝特森,1975年);撞擊坑和盆地、為數眾多的二次坑、大量明亮的坑是這個平原地區的地貌特徵。至少存在6個直徑從150公里至400公里的多環盆地。由於在水手10號拍攝的水星影像中廣泛存在着多環盆地,如同在月球火星,它們存在的價值在提供了比較這些天體的結構之間的潛在基礎。
