修昔底德（古希臘語：Θουκυδίδης，拉丁語：Thucydides，約前460年—約前400年）亦譯為修斯底德、修昔提底斯，古希臘歷史學家、思想家，以《伯羅奔尼撒戰爭史》傳世，該書記述了公元前5世紀斯巴達和雅典之間的戰爭。

因為修昔底德對史料搜集和對因果分析方面嚴謹的態度，故被稱為“科學歷史”之父。他還被稱為政治現實主義學派之父，該學派認為個人的政治行為以及國家之間關係的後續結果最終是由恐懼和自身利益的情緒所介導和構建的。 修昔底德亦是政治學中現實主義派的創始人，認為個體的政治行為與其所引起的國際政治關系均建構於恐懼感情與自我利益之上，並受二者調整。修昔底德希望通過認知人性，從而解釋諸如瘟疫、屠殺等災難中人的行為。

今日，修昔底德的著作仍在被世界各地的大學和軍事學院研究。其《米洛斯對話》至今仍是國際關系理論中最為重要的著作之一；《伯里克利葬礼演说》（Pericles' Funeral Oration）亦在政治理論、歷史和古典研究領域被廣泛參閱。

生平

現代對修昔底德的生平所知不多。最可靠的資料來自他的著作《伯羅奔尼撒戰爭史》。在書中，他闡述了他的國籍、父親和出生地方。修昔底德在書中告訴我們，他參加過伯羅奔尼撒戰爭，曾經得過黑死病和戰爭失利被流放。

流放時，收集資料記載是次戰爭，《伯羅奔尼撒戰爭史》，共八卷一百多萬字，尚未完成就被暗殺。
